2010年に東京都内で新設された保育園のためのテーブルです。
子供達の想像力を伸ばす環境・教育という園のコンセプトを基に考えたところ、一枚の紙を切って曲げだけで完成する、
シンプルで抽象的なテーブルの形状に辿り着きました。
実際にテーブルの展開図を紙やバルサに印刷し、子供達とワークショップをすることも想定しています。
抽象的な形状がゆえに他の機能は何もないように見えますが、3台まで積み重ねることが出来ます。

This piece of work would never have seen the light without my collaboration with a nursing facility in the Greater Tokyo Metropolis.
Each item is as if you simply folded a massive piece of paper to give it a shape of a table. I thought of keeping them as abstract as possible, simplicity so well renowned and attached to the artisan traditions of Japan.
Imagine a gather of a few kids around the tables where we place big flat sheets or balsa for kids to actually learn how this was conceived - they might end up conceptualizing something totally new, something I would never have imagined myself. You may stack them up to 3 layers - though at first sight of the product may appear functionally void - it creates an environment where kids can maximize their own creativity and mess around as much as they please.
